Our new book ‘Shrouds of the Somme – A Stitch in Time’ written by Rob’s wife Karina with Giles Adams is now available to buy in our online store.

This A4-sized paperback book contains 160 full colour pages filled with details of every single Shrouds exhibition from the first 19,240 in Exeter and Bristol, the Trench, Salisbury, Belfast, Lost Lives at Thiepval and of course the final layout of all 72,396 shrouds at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, London in November 2018.

A Stitch in Time gives a candid insight into the project – from the initial inspiration behind the shrouds to the struggles that Rob and his tiny team managed to overcome with the help of some incredible project partners and volunteers.

The book features dozens of exclusive behind-the-scenes photos and contributions offering different perspectives from people who have visited the shrouds or helped us with the project over the last few years.

The book has been very well received so far – here are a few comments from our Facebook page:

A wonderful documentary of this incredibly moving project. Only wish I had been fit enough to travel to the London event. Fortunately visited The Trench in Bristol – very moving – especially in the rain. So glad to have this book.

I have to say I was so moved by this book. The domino effect, how everyone came together to help you reduced me to tears… I can’t thank you enough for honouring our fallen in such a visual way.

Diane

It’s a fantastic book – well done team shrouds.
